Scoot Boot Advantages and Disadvantages

Introducing the Scoot Boot!

I just got these, but am really hopeful. They look like they are going to work perfectly for us. The boots we’ve tried so far are ...Cavallo Simple, Easyboot Boa, Trail, Backcountry (old and new models), Gloves…and others I don’t remember.
Advantages: The slimmest boot we’ve tried on – no hard or software to hurt him. Flexible, bends and molds. Large margin of tolerance for hoof sizes and shapes. Lasair’s hooves are often more wide than long and that is difficult to fit. Renegade boots do not work with hooves shaped like this. Their old style has a Cutback option which might work, but their new Viper models do not have that option so they probably will not work (this is straight from Renegade), plus, I’d have to purchase 3 different sizes. Does not get soggy and heavy when wet, great tread pattern with frog support, flexible sole, cutouts for heel bulbs. Does not interfere with gaits. Lasair is finally able to stretch out and use all of his hooves and extend his range of motion. Strong, flexible TPU material is hardier than canvas and leather against all the abuse of the elements. You can send Scoot Boot pictures of a ruler laid against the hooves so they can pick out the best size for you. Very easy to put on and take off. Very easy to rinse clean. Easy to store and carry as a spare. No velcro that easily fails, breaks down, and gets gunky. No buckles that are hard to use on hooves.
Disadvantages: The only problem I’ve heard is that sometimes the screws could back out, but this is solved with Loctite. Buy direct to get free International shipping – but then you wait about 2 weeks for it to arrive from Indonesia.
I’m looking forward to testing these out further to get a true feel for them. So far, they are the most promising boot yet!!
